Link Existing Tickets

 
Tickets that already exist can be linked using the Ticket Selection Checkbox and the Link Ttickets menu option.

Independent and dependent child ticket relationships can be created between tickets by selecting multiple tickets using the check-boxes on the main ticket list
 

 

Link Tickets Menu Option

After selecting multiple tickets and choosing the menu option Link Tickets from the supplemental ticket menu allows you to link tickets.
 

 
Linked tickets can be linked with a parent and child dependency or as independent tickets.
 
 
Tickets with a dependency require that all child tickets are set to closed or resolved before the parent ticket can be set to closed or resolved. Dependent tickets are very useful when creating sub-tasks that must be performed by internal or external staff members before a parent ticket can be closed.
 
The Link Tickets dialog shows the tickets in the help desk dialog that were selected in the main ticket grid. Selecting and un-selecting tickets in the dialog allow the user to confirm the ticks should be included in the specified linked ticket relationship.
